Case 99 looks like Johnny Rutherford's P-51 from back in '79-'80. If I'm not mistaken, I believe this plane went on to become the Joe Kasparoff/Skip Holm "The Healer", Race 39 during the '80's, and even won the race at Moose Jaw, Saskatchawan in 1984.

Case 99 is Johnny Rutherfords N6320T 44-74497 which was later sold to Hess Bomberger as "Vergeltungsvaffe" before being sold to Bob Jepson!

This is indeed N6320T, 44-74497. Depending on the date of the photo, it could have been owned by Johnny Rutherford or by Frank Strickler. It went on to belong to Hess Bomberger, as VERGERTUNGSWAFFE. It now belongs to Bob Jepson and is being rebuilt at Square One, at Chino.

Back around 1979 or 80 I was working at our local airport. Hess Bomberger was landing Vergertunfswaffe with another Mustang Jumping Jacques, and he had to groundloop it at the the end of the runway. Damaged the prop and the radiator. It was a fun time having this Mustang and JJ based there. Good times...
