Taken over Florida in '45, this P-51/F-6 was named Queenie for the good people at the VFW in Queens, NY who raised the war bond money for this aircraft. Col. Stewart lived in Queens and was honored as this P-51s first pilot. Reports are that this P-51 was on display outside Queens VFW for a number of years, we are looking for confirmation and info. Today Col. Stewart is listed MIA, Viet Nam since 1966.

In the background of the picture you used is a airfield. This airfield is Lakeland airport, Lakeland, Fl. I know it well, been there.
