This is the static display P-51D that sits forelornly at the Fresno, CA ANG base along with several jet powered displays. As I frequently do business in the Fresno area, if I'm near the airport, I often stop by and eat my lunch in the parking lot just long enought to get my "Mustang fix". Sure would love to see her back in the air where she belongs...

This might be the old "Gate Guard" at the California Air National Guard base in Fresno, California. There used to be a P-51 mounted on a pedestal outside the main facility but it was taken down in the early 80's and restored (static display). This could be the same aircraft.

Where is this Mustang on static display now? Still at Fresno?
