from Brad Haskin: "Robert Cleaves purchased the aircraft from Dave Allender in 1967. Cleaves was friends with Gene Roddenberry, the producer of the TV series Star Trek. Cleaves asked Roddenberry to come up with a patriotic design for his new toy (it wasn't called Miss America until after Howie Keefe bought it in 1969 and named it that)."
